Let Not Thy Hands Be Slack

Text: Isaiah 35:4; 41:10; John 14:27

"Let not thy hands be slack,"
Live not in vain;
Out on life's lonely track,
Men toil in pain.
Play thou a brother's part,
Strength, love and hope impart,
Bid thou the fainting heart,
Look up again!

"Let not thy hands be slack,"
Grip thou thy sword!
Why should'st thou courage lack?
Think of thy Lord.
Did He not fight for thee?
Stronger than all is He,
And He thy strength will be,
Rest on His word.

"Let not thy hands be slack,"
Haste to the fray!
Dream not of turning back:
Life is not play!
Gird thou thy armour on,
Fight till the battle's won,
Then shall thy Lord's "Well done!"
More than repay!

"Let not thy hands be slack,
Fear not! Be strong!"
Cease not to make attack
On every wrong.
Press on for truth and right,
Hold high the Gospel light,
Expel the dirge of night,
With heaven's song!

"Let not thy hands be slack,"
The days fly fast.
Lost moments come not back,
From the dark past.
Then be not slack of hand!
Help thou the weak to stand!
To God and Fatherland,
Give all thou hast!

Oft In Danger, Oft In Woe

Text: Luke 9:62; Jude 1:3; 1 Timothy 6:12

Oft in danger, oft in woe,
Onward, Christians, onward go;
Fight the fight, maintain the strive,
Strengthened with the Bread of Life.

Shrink not, Christians: will ye yield?
Will ye quit the painful field?
Will ye flee in danger's hour?
Know ye not your Captain's power?

Let your drooping hearts be glad;
March in heavenly armour clad:
Fight, nor think the battle long;
Soon shall victory tune your song.

Let not sorrow dim your eye,
Soon shall every tear be dry;
Let not fears your course impede,
Great your strength if great your need.

Onward then to glory move,
More than conquerors ye shall prove;
Though opposed by many a foe,
Christian soldiers, onward go.

Simply Trusting Everyday

Text: Proverbs 3:5-6; Jeremiah 17:7, 39:18; Psalm 9:10

Simply trusting everyday
Trusting through a stormy way;
Even when my faith is small,
Trusting Jesus, that is all.

Trusting as the moments fly,
Trusting as the days go by;
Trusting Him whatever befall,
Trusting Jesus, that is all

Brightly doth His Spirit shine
Into this poor heart of mine;
While He leads I cannot fall;
Trusting Jesus, that is all.

Singing if my way be clear;
Praying if the path be drear;
If in danger, for Him call;
Trusting Jesus, that is all.

Trusting Him while life shall last,
Trusting Him till earth be past;
Till within the jasper wall:
Trusting Jesus, that is all.

Hide God's Word In Your Heart

Text: Colossians 3:16; Psalm 119:11

Hide God’s Word in your heart,
Its precious truth believe;
At His command take from His hand,
The Bread of Life receive.

Hide God’s Word in your heart,
Hide God’s Word in your heart –
His Word of love sent from above,
Hide God’s Word in your heart.

Hide God’s Word in your heart
If you would grow in grace,
And like Him be until you see
Your Master face to face.

Hide God’s Word in your heart,
And seek the Spirit’s power
To understand each blest command
He gives from hour to hour.

Hide God’s Word in your heart,
And, having hidden well,
Seek out the lost, the tempest tossed,
Go forth His love to tell.

Hide God’s Word in your heart,
Each day a verse repeat;
Though sin allure, success is sure,
You cannot have defeat.

Come Over

Text: Psalm 15; Acts 3:19; James 4:8

There’s a land of peace and plenty,
and its gates are open wide;
And the pure in heart and
holy in its shelter may abide,
It is not through gates of glory
that a soul must enter in;
But all who would find entrance
there must leave the ways of sin.

Come over, come over,
to the land of corn and wine,
There is nothing can compare with the many
holy pleasures there,
Come over, come over, leave the
desert plain below and come away,
Away, come o…ver.

There is bread of heaven growing,
in its fair and fertile fields,
And the wine of love its
vineyard to the thirsting mortal yields;
There are mountain heights of
glory that awaits the traveler’s rod,
And blest retreats where
empty souls draw nearer unto God.

Who would stay without its borders,
in the desert dark and drear,
When the luscious grapes of
eschol are so very, very, near?
Enter in then with rejoicing,
for the Lord is on your side,
And in His glorious presence
ever more you shall abide.

Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus

Text: Hebrews 12:2; Acts 4:12, 16:31; Matthew 11:28-30

O soul, are you weary and troubled?
No light in the darkness you say?
There’s light for a look at the Saviour,
And life more abundant and free!

Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim
In the light of His glory and grace

Through death into life everlasting
He passed, and we follow Him there;
Over us sin no more has dominion –
For more than conquerors we are!

His word shall not fail you – He promised;
Believe Him and all will be well;
Then go to a world that is dying,
His perfect salvation to tell!

Go, Labour On

Text: John 13:15; 1 Peter 2:21; Matthew 12:50

Go, labour on, spend and be spent.
Thy joy to do the Father's will;
It is the way the Master went,
Should not the servant tread it still?

Go, labour on; it's not for nought,
Thy earthly loss is heavenly gain.
Men heed thee, love thee, praise thee not,
The Master praises, what are men?

Men die in darkness at your side,
Without a hope to cheer the tomb:
Take up the torch, and wave it wide,
The torch that lights time's thickest gloom

Toil on, and in thy toil rejoice,
For toil comes rest, for exile home;
Soon shall thou hear the Bridegroom's voice,
The midnight peal, "Behold, I come!"

If God Be For Us

Text: Romans 8:31-32

Rejoice in the Lord! oh, let His mercy cheer;
He sunders the bands that enthrall;
Redeemed by His blood why should we ever fear
Since Jesus is our "all in all"?

"If God be for us, If God be for us,
If God be for us, who can be against us?
Who? Who? Who?
Who can be against us, against us?"

Be strong in the Lord! Rejoice in His might,
Be loyal and true day by day;
When evil assail, be valiant for the right,
And He will be our strength and stay

Confide in His word - His promises so sure;
In Christ they are "yea and amen";
Though earth pass away, they ever shall endure,
It's written over and over again

Abide in the Lord: secure in His control,
It's life everlasting begun;
To pluck from His hand the weakest, trembling soul -
It never, never can be done!

Have You Been To Jesus?

Text: Matthew 26:28; Romans 5:9; Colossians 1:20

Have you been to Jesus for the cleansing power?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?
Are you fully trusting in His grace this hour?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?

Are you washed ... in the blood,
In the soul-cleansing blood of the Lamb?
Are your garments spotless? Are they white as snow?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?

Are you walking daily by the Saviour's side?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?
Do you rest each moment in the Crucified?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?

When the Bridegroom cometh will your robes be white?
Pure and white in the blood of the Lamb?
Will your soul be ready for the mansions bright,
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?

Lay aside the garments that are stained with sin,
And be washed in the blood of the Lamb;
There's a fountain flowing for the soul unclean,
Oh be washed in the blood of the Lamb

Welcome To November: Loopholes

Text: Matthew 11:28-30; James 4:7-10; 1 Peter 5:6-7

From The Truth Media family,
Happy New Month!!!

I searched and searched to find loopholes
Within, without the life I own,
Anger, malice, hate and strife
Had turned my heart into a stone

I felt my greed was justified,
I thought to hurt as well was right;
I failed to see the doom insight,
My soul was weak and dark as night

I lost it all – my joy, my peace
I’d gone too far to go back now;
My days were brief and fraught with pain,
I needed help but knew not how

Then came someone who told me how
A savior from above had come to die
To save mankind, to save my kind:
A slave to sin who lives to sigh

At first I thought it strange a man could die
To save a wretch, a git like me;
In disbelief I mocked the thought
That the savior from above could set me free

My misery grew to deep unrest,
Within fury had gained control;
I’d lost my heart to unknown fears
That soon will death surmount my soul

My days were brief and fraught with pain,
I needed help but knew not how
And then the thought arose again
To meet the Lord and humbly bow

He called my name and held my hands,
He showed me all He did for me:
The Cross, His blood, the scar, His hands;
He gave it all to set me free

I gave my life to Him that day
My chains, my pains and woes were gone;
He gave me joy and peace of mind
My days of groan and grief were done

I know the Lord, I know Jesus
He saved and washed my sins away;
He redeemed me, He rescued me
And leads me through His righteous way

He’s meek, he’s kind and gladly saves
When you in faith yield unto the Lord;
Believe in Him; He won’t fail you
For there’s nothing He can’t afford

Now when I search to find loopholes
Within, without the life I once own;
I see mercy, patience, faith and love
And grace that tells I’m not alone

The Great Judgment Morning

Text: Matthew 7:23; 2 Corinthians 5:10; Romans 14:10

I dreamed that the great judgment morning
Had dawned and the trumpet had blown;
I dreamed that the nations had gathered
To judgment before the white throne;
From the throne came a bright shining angel,
And stood on the land and the sea,
And swore with his hands raised to heaven,
That time was no longer to be.

And O, what a weeping and wailing,
As the lost were told of their fate;
They cried for the rocks and the mountains,
They prayed, but their prayer was too late.

The rich man was there, but his money
Had melted and vanished away;
A pauper he stood in the judgment,
His debts were too heavy to pay;
The great man was there, but his greatness,
When death came, was left far behind!
The angel that opened the records,
Not a trace of his greatness could find.

The widow was there with the orphans,
God heard and remembered their cries;
No sorrow in heaven for ever,
God wiped all the tears from their eyes;
The gambler was there and the drunkard,
And the man that had sold them the drink,
With the people who gave them the license,
Together in hell they did sink.

The moral man came to the judgment,
But his self-righteous rags would not do;
The men who had crucified Jesus,
Had passed off as moral men, too;
The soul that had put off salvation,
"Not tonight; I'll get saved by and by,
No time now to think of religion!"
At last they had found time to die.

Who Is On The Lord's Side?

Text: 2 Corinthians 6:17-18; Exodus 32:26

Who is on the Lord’s side?
Who will serve the King?
Who will be His helpers,
Other lives to bring?
Who will leave the world’s side?
Who will face the foe?
Who is on the Lord’s side?
Who for Him will go?

By Thy grand redemption,
By Thy grace divine,
We are on the Lord’s side;
Savior, we are Thine.

Not for weight of glory,
Not for crown and palm,
Enter we the army,
Raise the warrior psalm;
But for love that claimeth
Lives for whom He died;
He whom Jesus nameth
Must be on His side.

Jesus, Thou hast bought us,
Not with gold or gem,
But with Thine own life-blood,
For Thy diadem;
With Thy blessing filling
Each who comes to Thee,
Thou hast made us willing,
Thou hast made us free.

Fierce may be the conflict,
Strong may be the foe,
But the King’s own army
None can overthrow.
Round His standard ranging
Victory is secure,
For His truth unchanging
Makes the triumph sure.

Chosen to be soldiers
In an alien land:
Chosen, called, and faithful,
For our Captain’s band;
In the service royal
Let us not grow cold;
Let us be right loyal,
Noble, true, and bold.

Ye Who Are Troubled And Burdened By Sin

Text: John 3:16, 6:37; Matthew 11:28

Ye who are troubled and burdened by sin,
Come just as you are;
Come to the Savior, a new life begin,
Oh, come just as you are.

Come just as you are,
Oh, come just as you are;
Give up your sin, let the Savior come in,
And come just as you are.

Deep in your heart sin has written its scar,
Come just as you are;
Though from the Father you’ve wandered afar,
Oh, come just as you are.

Sinful and guilty, heartbroken and lost,
Come just as you are;
Think what your ransom on Calvary cost!
Oh, come just as you are.

Naught of your goodness God’s favor can win,
Come just as you are;
Trust in the blood which was shed for your sin,
And come just as you are.

Come with your heartache, your sorrow and pain,
Come just as you are;
No one has come to the Savior in vain,
Oh, come just as you are.

Welcome To October: O Brethren, Life's Journey Beginning

Text: Romans 6:12; 1 Corinthians 10:13

From The Truth Media family,
Happy New Month!!!

O brethren, life's journey beginning,
With courage and firmness arise!
Look well to the course thou art choosing;
Be earnest, be watchful, and wise!
Remember, two paths are before thee,
And both thy attention invite;
But one leadeth on to destruction,
The other to joy and delight.

God help you to follow His banner,
And serve Him wherever you go;
And when you are tempted, my brethren,
God give you the grace to say "No!"

O brethren, yield not to the tempter,
No matter what others may do;
Stand firm in the strength of the Master,
Be loyal, be faithful, and true!
Each trial will make you the stronger,
If you, in the name of the Lord,
Fight manfully under your leader,
Obeying the voice of His word.

O brethren, the Saviour is calling!
Beware of the danger of sin;
Resist not the voice of the Spirit,
That whispers so gently within.
God calls you to enter His service -
To live for Him here, day by day;
And share by and by in the glory
That never shall vanish away.

Jesus Is Coming Again

Text: Matthew 24:44; Revelations 22:12

Marvelous message we bring,
Glorious carol we sing,
Wonderful word of the King:
Jesus is coming again!...

Coming again, coming again;
May be morning, may be noon,
May be evening and may be soon!
Coming again, coming again;
O what a wonderful day it will be!
Jesus is coming again!

Forest and flower exclaim,
Mountain and meadow the same,
All earth and heaven proclaim:
Jesus is coming again!...

Standing before Him at last,
Trail and trouble all past,
Crowns at His feet we will cast:
Jesus is coming again!...
