Welcome To December: It's End Of Year

Text: 1 John 3:17; Hebrews 13:16; Proverbs 21:13

“Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others” (Philippians 2:4)

From The Truth Media family,
Happy New Month!!!

If the dead had known their end
Would cave in fast, unexpected;
If they had known the things they dread
Would quash their fate unsuspected

The strive to have it all at once,
To rule the world and amass wealth
Would they abhor and left for dunce
To hound around against their health.

To care and share with warmth in heart
Prolongs the soul that holds not back;
The ones who reach out to impart,
They never beg; they never lack.

If the sun had lost its virtue
Who would help the lilies bloom?
If life only was meant for you,
Not a flower will greet your tomb.

So, spread some cheer,
It’s not a crime;
It’s end of year,
It’s Christmas time.

No Scar

Hast thou no scar?
No hidden scar on foot, or side, or hand?
I hear thee sung as mighty in the land,
I hear them hail thy bright ascendant star,
Hast thou no scar?

Hast thou no wound?
Yet I was wounded by the archers, spent,
Leaned Me against a tree to die; and rent
By ravening beasts that compassed Me, I swooned:
Hast thou no wound?

No wound, no scar?
Yet, as the Master shall the servant be,
And, pierced are the feet that follow Me;
But thine are whole: can he have followed far
Who has no wound nor scar?

Did He Hang For Me?

Text: Rev. 2:11, John 8:36; Deuteronomy 30:19

So you say He hung on the tree,
That I might be set free?
But I was never shackled.
I walked free, speak unheckled

The one that is in chains knows not,
Still a slave, though his freedom’s bought

So you say He willingly bled,
That I might not to hell be led?
Was it I that paved the path to hell
Or designed its flaming cells?

Before all is life and death to choose
Choose hell and heaven you lose

So you say He bore my sins?
Enough! You paint such torrid scenes!
But He died thousands of years ago!
Yet, this death, you link to me?

His blameless blood was split that the lost
Be redeemed. He alone could pay the cost

Ah, did He die for me on that cross?
Did He bleed to save me, save us
From unseen fetters of sin;
Tethers that eyes have not seen?

He that has ears let him hear,
For the day of reckoning is near!

From The Dust To The Throne

Text: Mark 1:34; Psalm 103:2-3; 40:2; 145:14

He lifts up the poor, from the dust to the throne
He gathers the needy, and calls them his own
He heals the sick, and makes the dumb speak
He lifts up the shabby, and makes him a king

From poverty to riches, from the muds to a gold
From a scrap to a diamond, of values untold
From a commoner, to the palace, forever to sing
He lifts up the shabby, and makes him a king

From rejection to celebration, from nothing to something
From tears to cheers, of joys unspeakable
From pains to gains, as the blessed comes rejoicing
He lifts up the shabby, and makes him a king

From bondage to freedom, from darkness to light
He takes away all sorrows, all worries and strife
A husband to widows, to sinners a friend
He lifts up the shabby, and makes him a king

He cleanses our hearts, from all the filths of sin
And makes it pure, whiter than snow
From a polluted mortal, without and within
He lifts up the shabby, and makes him a king

He gives us a hope, for a Kingdom of light
The abode of the Father, spirit and the son
Blessed trinity, the three who lives as one
He lifts up the shabby, and makes him a king

He lifts up the poor, from the dust to the throne
He gathers the needy, and calls them his own
He heals the sick, and makes the dumb speak
He lifts up the shabby, and makes him a king

Welcome To November: Loopholes

Text: Matthew 11:28-30; James 4:7-10; 1 Peter 5:6-7

From The Truth Media family,
Happy New Month!!!

I searched and searched to find loopholes
Within, without the life I own,
Anger, malice, hate and strife
Had turned my heart into a stone

I felt my greed was justified,
I thought to hurt as well was right;
I failed to see the doom insight,
My soul was weak and dark as night

I lost it all – my joy, my peace
I’d gone too far to go back now;
My days were brief and fraught with pain,
I needed help but knew not how

Then came someone who told me how
A savior from above had come to die
To save mankind, to save my kind:
A slave to sin who lives to sigh

At first I thought it strange a man could die
To save a wretch, a git like me;
In disbelief I mocked the thought
That the savior from above could set me free

My misery grew to deep unrest,
Within fury had gained control;
I’d lost my heart to unknown fears
That soon will death surmount my soul

My days were brief and fraught with pain,
I needed help but knew not how
And then the thought arose again
To meet the Lord and humbly bow

He called my name and held my hands,
He showed me all He did for me:
The Cross, His blood, the scar, His hands;
He gave it all to set me free

I gave my life to Him that day
My chains, my pains and woes were gone;
He gave me joy and peace of mind
My days of groan and grief were done

I know the Lord, I know Jesus
He saved and washed my sins away;
He redeemed me, He rescued me
And leads me through His righteous way

He’s meek, he’s kind and gladly saves
When you in faith yield unto the Lord;
Believe in Him; He won’t fail you
For there’s nothing He can’t afford

Now when I search to find loopholes
Within, without the life I once own;
I see mercy, patience, faith and love
And grace that tells I’m not alone

Generating Thirst In Others

Text: Matthew 5:13; James 2:14-26

Table salt without pleasing flavor is useless,
Like a weak Christian lacking “good works”;
For the world is in need of divine examples
Of how to live within the Kingdom’s framework.

There are many souls craving spiritual waters,
To have their endless abyss of thirst quenched.
Are we testifying of God’s love to reach those
In strongholds- where they’re firmly entrenched?

Unless there are obvious and significant change
In the personal behavior of our everyday lives,
The World will have no real motivation for faith
When there’s no evidence of transcendent lives.

We’re still called to be the salt of this planet,
Demonstrating victorious lives as saved brothers;
As Christians, we’re supposed to add loving flavor.
We’re responsible for generating thirst in others!

Where Are Your Tears?

Text: Hebrews 7:25; Proverbs 11:30; Mark 16:15

There are tears in the sinner's eyes,
Habits of sin binding heart, hand and feet;
Broken with shame at his sin and defeat,
Hot burning tears coursing down his hot cheek -
There are tears in the sinner's eyes.

There are tears in the sufferer's eyes,
Long weary hours of disease, weakness, pain,
Praying that health be restored once again;
Waiting for healing, but waiting in vain -
There are tears in the sufferer's eyes.

There are tears in discouraged eyes,
Misunderstood by the ones who should know;
No one to love, to compassion bestow,
Fainting, discouraged, with hope burning low -
There are tears in discouraged eyes.

There are tears in non-Christian eyes,
Calling to idols of wood and of stone,
Calling in vain, Christ and Saviour unknown,
Comfortless, helpless, without God, alone -
There are tears in non-Christian eyes.

There are tears in the Saviour's eyes,
Tears for those sinning, discouraged and ill,
Tears for straying ones, out of His will,
Tears for millions unreached by us till -
There are tears in the Saviour's eyes.

But where are the tears in your eyes?
Can you not weep with millions who weep?
Have you no tears for the other lost sheep?
Jesus is weeping! Are you still asleep?
Oh! Where are the tears in your eyes?

The Cross, Stark And Still

Text: Isaiah 55:6; John 3:16

Into the depths of untold depravity,
A perfect creation had fallen away;
Unimagined grace poured out from our God above -
As His Hand of wrath was firmly stayed.

The Cross, stark and still, standing upon a naked hill…
Subtly calls for the World’s attention.

Since the dawn of everlasting time,
Our Savior awaited His appointed day;
Despite humanity’s race to certain doom –
His Hand of wrath was intentionally stayed.

The Cross, stark and still, standing upon a naked hill…
Continues to demonstrate His gift of Salvation.

The twinkling stars danced across the midnight blue
As songs arose from the angelic array;
Quietly the Messianic babe in a manger lay –
As His Hand of wrath was lovingly stayed.

The Cross, stark and still, standing upon a naked hill…
Serves as a testament of Love’s perfection.

A carpenter's son? He’s just a man!
His godly claim on earth displayed
Had believers searching for purest faith –
His Hand of wrath was securely stayed.

The Cross, stark and still, standing upon a naked hill…
Reminds that our debt was paid for sin’s violation.

In the face of false accusations,
Christ held His tongue to Pilate’s dismay,
For God’s plan played out for all to see –
As His Hand of wrath was purposely stayed.

The Cross, stark and still, standing upon a naked hill…
Is a backdrop for a risen Lord calling us with adoration.

Antiphon

Text: 113:3

Put your voice to use and gladly sing
Praise the Lord, our God and king

The heavens are not too high
With gratitude His praise will fly
The earth is not too low
For His praise go grow

Put your voice to use and gladly sing
Praise the Lord, our God and king

Believers with psalms must shout
No door can keep them out
But above all, the heart
Must bear the longest part

A Broken Heart

Text: Psalm 34:18

Key Verse: "The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit."

A broken heart,
A soul that shatters
Needs the One
Who really matters.

Though time cures,
The dejected heart
Jesus will heal . . .
The broken part

Life is unkind,
We all know this
And His compassion
We often miss.

Human affection,
Can be so cruel
But to Him we're like
A precious jewel.

Jesus loves,
The broken heart
From the sorrowful one
He'll never part!

Living Dangerously In The Hands Of God

Text: 2 Chronicles 16:9

How easily Jesus is forgotten amid the comfort of our lives
How the flames become a flicker, and faith a brilliant disguise
Our Sundays become a holiday, they're an empty exercise
And the cost of real devotion seems so foreign to our lives

Oh, to gladly risk it all, oh to be faithful to His call
Abandoned to grace yet anchored in His love
Living dangerously in the hands of God

Our Lord He is a hiding place, His hold is strong and sure
Though the storms may rage around you, in His love you stand secure
So live like you believe it, and though your faith is prone to fail
Though you cower under trial, by His grace you shall prevail

Oh, to gladly risk it all, oh to be faithful to His call
Abandoned to grace yet anchored in His love
Living dangerously in the hands of God

There's safety in complacency, but God is calling us
Out of our comfort zone into a life of complete surrender to the cross.
To live dangerously
Is not to live recklessly but righteously.
And it is because of God's radical grace
For us that we can risk living
A life of radical obedience for Him.

You've got to walk on for the Lord He walks with us
You've got to walk on though it costs you everything
You've got to pray on

Oh, to gladly risk it all, oh to be faithful to His call
Abandoned to grace yet anchored in His love
Living dangerously in the hands of God

Living dangerously
Are you living dangerously?
Oh we ought to be living dangerously in the hands of God

Welcome To September: Vanity

Reference Text: Isaiah 55:6-7; Ecclesiastes 1:2-14

From The Truth Media family,
Happy New Month!

The fleet astronomer can bore
And thread the spheres with his quick-piercing mind:
He views their stations, walks from door to door
Surveys, as if he had designed
To make a purchase there: he sees their dances
And knoweth long before
Both their full-eyed aspects, and secret glances

The nimble diver with his side
Cuts through the working waves that he may fetch
His dearly-earned pearl, which God did hide
On purpose from the ventrous wretch
That he might save his life, and also hers
Who with excessive pride
Her own destruction and his danger wears

The subtle chymick can devest
And strip the creature naked, till he find
The callow principles within their nest:
There he imparts to them his mind
Admitted to their bed-chamber, before
They appear trim and drest
To ordinary suitors at the door

What hath not man sought out and found
But his dear God? Who yet His glorious law
Embosoms in us, mellowing the ground
With showers and frosts, with love and awe
So that we need not say, where is this command?
Poor man, thou searchest round
To find out death, but missest life at hand.

The Agony

Philosophers have measured mountains,
Fathom’d the depths of seas, of states, and kings,
Walk’d with a staff to heaven, and traced fountains
But there are two vast, spacious things,
The which to measure it doth more behove:
Yet few there are that sound them; Sin and Love.

Who would know Sin, let him repair
Unto Mount Olivet; there shall he see
A man, so wrung with pains, that all his hair,
His skin, his garments, bloody be.
Sin is that Press and Vice, which forceth pain
To hunt his cruel food through every vein.

Who knows not Love, let him assay,
And taste that juice, which on the cross a pike
Did set again abroach; then let him say
If ever he did taste the like.
Love is that liquor sweet and most divine,
Which my God feels as blood; but I, as wine.

Committed To Him?

When we’re truly betrothed to Him,
We can’t help, but divinely succeed;
Christ’s not a Man that He should lie
And He’s promised to meet our needs.

Are we, not more important than birds
Found about the land, trees and air?
Are we better clothed than flowers?
Are we committed to Him and His care?

Are we not made after God’s image?
As His Children, are we responsible,
For applying The Word to our lives?
Are we spiritually irresponsible?

We’re accountable for understanding
How to divinely develop and grow.
Spiritual progression doesn’t allow
Us to blindly accept the status quo!

The Day of Judgment is still coming.
Will you be seen as a goat or sheep?
Are you joined to the True Vine or
Will your soul burn on Hell’s heap?

Welcome To August: Build A Mind To Rise

Your foes your ruin desire,
They’ll shoot their words of fire;
Their aim to raze your heart
And watch you from God depart.

Night and day they conspire
That you faint and retire
In the abyss of fear;
They mail you throes you cannot bear

Build a mind to rise
Above despair and dear be wise;
Come know the Lord and you’ll find strength
That leads one’s faith to any length.

Build a mind to rise…
Arise and shine and rise and shine;
O, shine and rise
But slay the whine.

Since the days of Tobiah
Have men drowned in phobia;
Choose this day to end the trauma;
Come know the Lord and your groans are over.
